About our Partnership

Seeking to highlight the importance of children’s water safety and drowning prevention, the partnership with the Royal Life Saving Society UK brings new opportunities for the sharing of research and insights related to children’s water safety and child drownings.

The Royal Life Saving Society UK’s strategic framework 2020-2025 includes the pillar, ‘Building our Communities’. We want to reach as many people as possible to allow everyone the opportunity to enjoy water safely, no matter their background. The Royal Life Saving Society UK hopes that the partnership will see the two charities work together to help raise awareness around children’s water safety education, drownings and provide further opportunities to educate parents and carers.

Set up 40 years ago by two consultant paediatricians who saw a need for change, the Child Accident Prevention Trust is the UK’s leading charity working to reduce the number of children and young people injured, disabled and killed in accidents. 

Driven by the desire to prevent child deaths and accidents resulting in life-changing injuries, the Child Accident Prevention Trust envisions a safer world for all children and its passion lies in keeping all children safe. 

The charity also offers water safety and drowning prevention advice to parents in its communications and on its website.
