Love the sea and looking to make a real difference in the work you do? The RNLI are looking for friendly, committed and passionate people to be part of their lifeguarding team in 2026! And you’d be joining them in a special year, as 2026 marks the 25th anniversary of RNLI lifeguards.

RNLI lifeguards patrol more than 245 beaches around the UK and Channel Islands. They spot dangers and prevent accidents before they happen, provide first aid to those who need it, and share vital safety advice. Since 2001, RNLI lifeguards have taken over 48 million preventative actions and saved more than 2,000 lives.

As an RNLI lifeguard, you’ll be part of a supportive team that makes a lifesaving difference. You’ll be paid to have the beach as your office while doing an incredibly rewarding job that you can be proud of. Every day you come to work, you’ll help people enjoy their time by the water and keep them safe. And the skills you’ll learn will stay with you for life, no matter where your career takes you.

Through RLSS UK’s National Vocational Beach Lifeguard Qualification (NVBLQ), successful applicants will receive world-class training to build your skills – from how to handle equipment on the beach, to first aid and casualty care.
