Meet Adam Elson, RLSS UK's LGBTQ+ Lead

On being appointed RLSS UK's LGBTQ+ Lead, Adam Elson said: 

“I’m really proud to share some exciting news - I’ve been appointed as the LGBTQ+ Lead for the Royal Life Saving Society UK (RLSS UK)! 

In this voluntary role, I’ll be helping to re-launch the organisation’s LGBTQ+ & Inclusion Group, working alongside an amazing team and the wider Diversity & Inclusion network. Together, we’ll focus on making sure that lifesaving, lifeguarding, and water safety activities are truly welcoming for everyone - a safe, respectful, and empowering environment where all identities and backgrounds feel represented and supported. 

Having spent over nine years in the leisure industry and RLSS UK, and time in the police service, I know how important safety, leadership, and inclusion really are. This is a fantastic opportunity to bring those passions together, give back to the community, and help shape a lifesaving culture where no one has to question whether they belong. 

I’m looking forward to working with others who care about inclusion, equality, and water safety, and helping RLSS UK continue its mission to save lives while celebrating the diversity of the people who make it all possible. 🏳️‍🌈🌊”
