Vanessa Threadgold Vanessa Threadgold is the Head of Resuscitation & Clinical Skills at UHCW NHS Trust, where she leads the strategic development and delivery of high quality resuscitation training and clinical skills education across the organisation. A highly experienced clinician and educator, Vanessa is a Resuscitation Council UK ALS and EPALS Instructor, also educating on the European Major Trauma Course. With a background as an Nurse and ACP in Emergency, Trauma & Frailty care, Vanessa now has extensive expertise in advanced life support, simulation-based education, and multidisciplinary team development, Vanessa plays a pivotal role in shaping resuscitation policy, governance, and practice standards within the Trust and wider Community. She is passionate about fostering a culture of confidence and competence among staff, ensuring that teams are prepared to deliver safe, effective care in critical situations. Vanessa is also a strong advocate for improving out of hospital CPR awareness and training. She is dedicated to increasing public confidence in recognising cardiac arrest and starting CPR, and the effective and safe use of public access defibrillators, actions that can double or even triple a person’s chances of survival. Through community engagement, education initiatives, and collaboration with local partners, Vanessa champions the message that bystander CPR including defibrillation is a vital link in the chain of survival and a skill that everyone can learn. Vanessa’s leadership spans programme design, faculty development, quality assurance, governance, and innovation in resuscitation education and clinically. She is known for her collaborative approach and her dedication to continually advancing clinical training to reflect best practice and emerging evidence.
