In 2026, the ceremony will take place on Saturday 17 October. Who is eligible to win an RLSS UK Honours Award? The RLSS UK Honour Awards are awarded to RLSS UK volunteers for years of continuous service, for meritorious contribution, and for those who have carried out exceptional work in designated category areas. Service awards celebrate length of continuous service to RLSS UK, and merit awards celebrate meritorious actions, regardless of service length. Special awards celebrate those volunteers who have gone above and beyond and have rendered exceptional contribution to the society. Anybody can nominate someone else for an Honour Award; however you cannot nominate yourself. We strongly encourage both RLSS UK clubs and branches to have a small Honours nominations committee to ensure their volunteers are recognised. RLSS UK Honour Award recipients are typically notified if they have won an award at least 3 months prior to the Honours ceremony date.
