It equips employers and their staff with the knowledge and abilities to minimise risks and hazards in the workplace. This one-day Combined Emergency Paediatric First Aid (EPFA) and Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) course is for anyone over the age of 16 that has contact or works with both adults and children. This one day course combines the following individual courses: Emergency Paediatric First Aid (EPFA) Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) The Combined EPFA and EFAW course offers both qualifications to be taken together within 7 hours and can be delivered over one day or split into smaller sessions which can be delivered over 4 weeks. The two qualifications are Ofqual, CCEA and Qualification Wales accredited and valid for three years from the date of assessment. How to manage and provide first aid to an unresponsive casualty who is not breathing normally (adult, child and infant). How to manage and provide first aid to an infant, child, or adult suffering from shock. How to assess an incident and emergency situation and act safely and effectively. How to recognise and provide first aid for an infant, child, or adult with a foreign body airway obstruction (choking). How to provide first aid to a casualty with external bleeding. How to handle a casualty with a minor injury. How to manage an unresponsive casualty who is breathing normally. Renewal Process for a Combined EPFA and EFAW Certificate To renew a Combined EPFA and EFAW certificate, candidates must re-qualify by being assessed against all learning outcomes and assessment criteria for the qualification. A renewal is achieved by reattending Combined EPFA and EFAW course.
