Royal Life Saving Society UK (RLSS UK) is the UK and Ireland's leading Awarding Organisation (AO) for lifeguarding and the Leisure industry's first-choice partner. The RLSS UK Qualifications Approved Training Centre/Provider (ATC/P) scheme incorporates all facilities using and delivering regulated RLSS UK qualifications and awards.

A network of around 5,000 highly-trained and dedicated RLSS UK Trainer Assessors (TAs), Mentors, National Trainer Assessors (NTAs), and Instructors operates out of over 2,700 ATC/Ps or Registered Venues across the UK, Ireland, and beyond. Each year, they deliver over 220,000 regulated awards and qualifications (RLSS UK Qualifications) and non-regulated* vocational awards and programmes (RLSS UK), including Pool Safety, Pool Management, Lifeguarding, First Aid, Aquatic Therapy, Teaching, and Training for indoor and outdoor water environments.

*There is no requirement to become an RLSS UK Qualifications ATC/P to deliver non-regulated qualifications. However, if you would like the benefits of an RLSS UK Account and not deliver regulated qualifications, you can become an RLSS UK Registered Venue.

Selecting the appropriate ATC/P scheme level

RLSS UK Qualifications Approved Training Centre (ATC): any business or organisation that operates out of its venue and can deliver, assess, and ensure the quality of our regulated qualifications.

RLSS UK Qualifications Approved Training Provider (ATP): any training company or trainer wishing to set up their facility without a specific venue or pool, but otherwise operate in the same way as an ATC to deliver, assess, and quality assure our regulated qualifications.

RLSS UK Registered Venue: any business or organisation that wishes to access RLSS UK Account benefits but has no plans to deliver RLSS UK Qualifications' regulated awards and qualifications.
